Der Multiinstrumentalist Rock and Roll Junkie, alias Dr. Achim Heinze, ist ein wahres Energiebündel, das Stillstand nicht kennt. Mit einem beeindruckenden Lebenslauf als Extremsportler, Double-Ironman-Finisher und zweifachem Weltmeister im Ultraradmarathon bringt er eine bemerkenswerte Dynamik in seine Musik. Seine akademische Laufbahn als promovierter Wissenschaftler und seine zehn Semester Gesangs- und klassischen Gitarrenunterricht an der Universität zeugen von seiner Vielseitigkeit und seinem Streben nach Perfektion.
Musik ist für Dr. Heinze nicht nur ein Hobby, sondern ein essenzieller Teil seiner kreativen Ausdrucksweise. Seine Eigenkompositionen, die im Münchener Sky-Studio unter der Regie von Bobby Altvater entstanden sind, vereinen Einflüsse aus Hard Rock und Punk und erinnern an Größen wie Thin Lizzy und Gary Moore. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Song "Love the Sun", der mit einer Prise Kitsch und balladesken Sehnsuchtsmomenten aufwartet.
Stimmlich erinnert der selbsternannte Rock and Roll Junkie an den legendären Frank Z. von ABWÄRTS, wobei seine nasale Akzentuierung einen besonderen Charme versprüht. Die energiegeladenen Midtempo-Songs wie "Dead End Breed" ziehen den Hörer sofort in ihren Bann, während "On the Down Road" dazu einlädt, Feuerzeuge und Taschenlampen in die Höhe zu halten. Mit "Last Punk in Town" fordert Dr. Heinze die Zuhörer sogar zum Pogo vorm Discounter auf – ein klarer Beweis für seinen unkonventionellen Ansatz.
Das schamanisch anmutende Cover der CD ergänzt das Gesamtbild und verleiht dem Gesamtbild einen spirituellen Beigeschmack. "Generation Brainwash"

Der Opener von Streich Nummer 7 ("Soulfucker Blues" mit geilen Harp-Licks) geht krachendend wuchtig ins Ohr, ohne die melodischen Aspekte zu vernachlässigen. Die gewohnt kritischen Texte - wie im Titeltrack "Generation Brainwash" halten der Gesellschaft einmal mehr den Spiegel vor. Wer mehr über die neue "Generation Gehirnwäsche" erfahren möchte, sollte deshalb einen Blick ins Buch "Schöne neue Medienwelt" von Dr. Achim Heinze werfen, das parallel zur CD erscheint. Das Albumartwork aus der Feder von Ulrich Wolf besticht durch seine dystopische Szenerie. "Ein Konzeptalbum ist Gen. B. jedoch nicht", wie der Musiker und Mastermind betont. Mit Ausnahme des Titeltrack-Epos, der eine ordentliche Metal-Schlagseite aufweist, handelt es sich durchgängig um kurze und knackige Songs, die schnell und zielsicher auf den Punkt kommen. "Wenn man das meiste selbst einspielt bzw. der Bruder noch die Gitarrenhand anlegt, dann hat das den großen Vorteil, das alles timingsicher über die Ziellinie gebracht wird, schließlich hat jeder sein eigenes Feeling. Eine bessere Rhythm-Sektion als die mit sich selbst gibt es schlichtweg nicht!"
Vollgas ohne Tempolimit ist allerdings nicht durchgängig angesagt; denn ruhigere Momente gibt es mit "Where are you tonite" oder in der zweiten Hälfte des Albums mit der Piano-Ballade "Epitaph" und dem Acoustic-Track Drop out (dieser könnte von Mike Tramp oder Tom Petty sein). Der Final-Track ("December Girl"), ein sehr einfühlsamer Track mit Gänsehautgarantie beschließt das Album mellow und würdig.
Vergleiche zu bekannten Bands? "Einflüsse von Thin Lizzy (die zweistimmigen Leadgitarrenläufe), L.A. Guns, Aerosmith und the Damned kann man vielleicht ein wenig heraushören - im Prinzip ist es doch ein eigener Stil aus hartem Rock and Roll, Anti-Establishment-Punk und manchmal auch ein wenig melodiösem Pop!" Generation Brainwash deckt die gesamte Bandbreite des musikalischen Schaffens ab - von Abgeh-Songs über Midtempo-Tracks über Balladen scheinen auf diesem Filler-free-Album deutlich alle Trademarks hinsichtlich Coolness und Swagger auf. ROCK AND ROLL JUNKIE 'COMMERCIAL SUICIDE' (SKY PRODUCTIONS/GERMAN IMPORT)


ROCK AND ROLL JUNKIE is a good-old fashioned dirty mean sleazy rock and roll band from Germany, and they sound extremely authentic on their 3rd album Commercial suicide. The band is formed around vocalist/multi-instrumentalist JUNKIE, who is doing almost everything on his own, except a few guitar solos (done by KIKI), so actually this is a project or one-man’s band. After two independent releases, the band is now signed to SKY PRODUCTIONS. 12 songs are included on the CD, and opener NTWV is a catchy up tempo 80s orientated sleazy/glam rocker that even reminds me a bit of classic TIGERTAILZ, LA GUNS and such. Following My darker side is slightly more melodic in the guitar sound, and somehow this song reminds me of a cross between TATTOOED LOVE BOYS, CHROME MOLLY, BILLY IDOL, HANOI ROCKS and THE CULT, quite a catchy tune. I think you’ll get the picture in which direction this is going, and from the other 10 songs the highlights are On your knees (awesome 80s hard rock guitar work), the title track Commercial suicide, Falling and Rock and roll diet. They sound very British 1980s hard/sleaze/glam rock orientated somehow, so they are doing this quite well if you’re a fan of the aforementioned acts. SIMBACH. Der gebürtige Simbacher Achim Heinze ist promovierter Buchautor, Schuldirektor und zweifacher Weltmeister im Ultraradmarathon. Derzeit widmet er sich aber einer anderen großen Leidenschaft, der Musik, und veröffentlichte ein neues Rock and Roll-Album.

Harter Rock and Roll und sozialkritischer Input, das erwartet einen im neuen Album „Not too old to die young“, so Heinze. Er ist der „Rock and Roll Junkie“, dessen Sucht einzig die Musik ist, wie er sagt. Unter diesem Namen veröffentlichte er bereits mehrere Alben.

Mit der Musik begann Heinze im Grundschulalter. Einem klassischen Klavierunterricht folgte der E-Bass. Schließlich wurde die E-Gitarre das Hauptinstrument, auf dem er seit der Jugendzeit in Rockbands spielte. Während seines Studiums ließ er sich zudem zehn Semester lang im Gesang- und klassischen Gitarrenunterricht ausbilden. Seit zwei Jahrzehnten entstehen nun Eigenkompositionen, die vor allem dem Bereich Hardrock, Sleaze, Rock and Roll sowie Classic Rock zuzuordnen sind.
Kick Ass-Rock and Roll

Das neueste Album ist die vierte CD des Musikers, die gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder, dem Leadgitarristen „Kiki“, entstand. „Sie wurde im legendären Münchener Sky-Studio aufgenommen, abgemischt und gemastert, wo auch schon Szene-Größen wie L.A. Guns, Shameless oder Wasp zu Gast waren“, berichtet Heinze.

„Es setzt dort an, wo Bands wie Guns and Roses, L.A. Guns und ihre Nachfolger Ende der Eighties aufgehört haben: Kick Ass-Rock and Roll.“ Spürbar sei in den zwölf Songs auch der Einfluss von Classic Rock-Bands wie Aerosmith. „Sozialkritischer Input verbindet sich mit Street-Lyrics zu einer dreckigen Melange: genannt ‚Street-rock‘“, so der Musiker. Dr. Achim Heinze lässt die Gitarre sprechen. Mehr noch, scheint er sich mit der Gitarre so eng verbunden zu fühlen, dass er sie auf jedem einzelnen Foto auf dem Cover, im Booklet in den verschiedensten Posen präsentiert, als würde er mit ihr verwachsen sein. Ab und an ergänzt Bruder Kiki das Hard and Heavy-Riffing, die zusammen an der Rock and Roll-Nadel hängen und sich die Leidenschaft, mehr noch, das Lebensschicksal teilen, Musik ist Gemeinschaft. Achim spielt aber dennoch lieber fast alles alleine ein und gibt pädagogisch wertvolle Tipps zu religiösen Glaubensfragen, PC, DJ-Nights, spendet Licht in einer dunklen, kalten November-Nacht. Wie ein einsamer Wolf oder ein lustvoller Junkie erzeugt er in jedem Song ein pathetisches Gefühl, lässt Dampf ab und wägt ab zwischen Schumann, Bach, Aerosmith, Reggae, Punk und Lee Hazelwood, um sich die Freiräume zum Spielen zu schaffen, die notwendig sind, weil Musik als Sprache des Herzens über Kontinente und Kulturen hinausgeht, eine andere Art von Diplomatie, um etwas zu ins Rollen zu bringen und die rauschhafte Zeit der Jugend lebendig zu halten.
